Golf Competition Information

Mondays

This kicks off the week with our "Over 50s" morning competition which averages 30 to 40 players each week, all interested in having a hit and enjoying each others' company. The competitions vary from week to week, so everyone gets to play in his or her favourite event. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, we would love to have you so come on down and say hello to our friendly members.

Tuesdays

Tuesdays are set aside for social players, i.e. any member of the public who wish to come to the club and have a round. A point to remember, is that, should you decide to play early in the morning, your green fees entitle you to return at any time during the remainder of the day. Should you decide to play again in the afternoon, all we ask is that you retain your green fee receipt to acknowledge that you have paid earlier in the day.

Wednesdays

Competitions start on Wednesdays from 7.00am and are normally completed by 10.00am, allowing social players the opportunity to have a round for the remainder of the day.

Thursdays

This is. "Chook run" day for members, with play starting from as early as 7.00am, and continuing up until lunch. This day is also open to social players who wish to come along and take part in a round, remembering of course, a little bit of etiquette or courtesy for a better word, is encouraged. in making sure that there is at least a full fairway between yourself and the next player/s coming up behind you.

Fridays

Friday competitions kick off from 7.00am allowing members to complete their rounds by approximately 10.45am, then opening UP the rest of the day to social play.

Just as a point of interest, should you wish to play on any of the competition days set down during the week, and for any reason there is a delay, you are invited to use our practice fairway which runs parallel with the first tee on the opposite side of the car park, whilst you are waiting to tee off.

Saturdays

Like the rest of the week, competition play starts from 7.00am and usually runs through until 10.00am, allowing social play to take place from then on. Due to the fact that weekends can be a lot more popular for the likes of social groups, it is advisable to give the club a ring before coming down. That way, we can indicate to you, how busy the course is at the time.

Sundays

Competition times are set out the same on this day as on any of the other competition days. Remembering, that once again, that the weekend lends itself to more social players than during the week, it is advisable that you contact the club prior to your departure, to ensure that no lengthy delays occur to hinder your expected tee off time.

24.2  Immovable Obstruction
 a.   Interference

Interference by an immovable obstruction occurs when a ball lies in or on the obstruction, or so close to the obstruction that the obstruction interferes with the player's stance or the area of his intended swing.  If the player's ball lies on the putting green. interference also occurs if an immovable obstruction on the putting green intervenes on his line of putt. Otherwise, intervention on the line of play is not, of itself, interference under this Rule.
